Coats ,NC:  Mr. Vonor Lee Godwin, age 79, of  Red Hill Church Road died Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital  in Fayetteville, NC. Funeral Service will be 11:00AM Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel  in Benson, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Tim Sullivan.  Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.           Mr. Godwin was born in Johnston County on October 15, 1940, to the late Branson Vonor and Erma Ennis Godwin. He was a retired supervisor with the D.C. Department of Corrections, US Navy Veteran and member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church outside of Coats, NC.             Surviving include his wife of 57 years, Peggy B. Godwin; children, Ruth Ann Godwin Sullivan and husband, Timothy of Fredericksburg, VA, Linda Ann Godwin Limerick and husband, Warren of Coats, and Lee Allen Godwin and wife, Katie of Little Washington; grandchildren, Jason Sullivan, Tiffany Sullivan, Kyle Aldred, Ahna Aldred, Allen Austin Godwin, Shawn Limerick, Branson Connor Godwin; great-grandchildren, Nolan Daniel Sullivan, Grayson Timothy Sullivan, Althea Jane Sullivan, Alani Grace Aldred, Layla Marie Aldred; several nieces and nephews.             The family will receive friends 9:45AM - 10:45AM, Saturday, November 2, 2019, prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home.             Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, P.O. 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.             Arrangements by Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
