Coats, NC: Mrs. Vonnie Allen Stewart, age 84, of NC-27 passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at her residence. A Graveside Service will be held-11:00 AM Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.

Mrs. Stewart was born on September 15, 1941 in Johnston County to the late Holly D. and Irene McLamb Allen. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Stewart; son, Tony Ray West; daughter, Charlene Ray; and her siblings, Peggy Plant, Raeford Allen, Goldie Ammons, Mary Lou Jackson, Donald Coats, and Ronald Hill. She was a generous and sweet person whose kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was hardworking, independent, and always willing to lend a helping hand. She found great joy in cooking, especially preparing delicious meals for her family and bringing everyone together around the table. Her love for her family was evident in all that she did. Her favorite thing to do was antique at flea markets with her husband. She also adored her beloved dog, Jack, who held a very special place in her heart and brought her much happiness and companionship.

Survivors include her grandchildren, John Neigbors, Casey Goodall and husband, Blake, Storm West, Lindsey Johnson and husband, Chris, Kevin Stewart, Joy Stewart, Bonnie Stewart, Melissa Kirkman and husband, Jimmy, and John Weaver and Jessica; son-in-law, Andy Ray; step-children, Ann Weaver, Donald Stewart and wife, Chris, and Rattler Stewart and wife, Tammy; sisters, Sylvia Ferrell and Jo Ann Roberts; brother, Buddy Allen; and many nieces and nephews.
