Pikeville, NC: Mr. Tony Durwood Turnage, age 56, of Pikeville passed away peacefully on July 17th 2026 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. His last ride will be by horse and wagon for a Graveside Funeral Service held-11:00 AM Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at Barbours Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Patrick Muston. 

Tony was born on May 16, 1970 in Johnston County to the late Wade Edward and Beverly Oliver Turnage. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by step-son, Kyle Wingard, Mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ray and Linda Beasley, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Beasley. Tony was a true cowboy in every sense of the word. He loved the western way of life, horses, hats, boots and the freedom that came with living life on his own terms. His kindness, loyalty, and generosity touched countless lives. Life was not always easy for Tony. He fought some very tough battles with strength and determination. Those who knew him admired his resilience and the way he continued to love deeply even during difficult times. He will be remembered for his big heart and for the love of his family and friends.

Survivors include his dedicated wife of 12 years, Tammy Turnage; son, Tyler Turnage and wife, Corinthia; daughter, Haley Turnage and Travis Rhodes; step-children, Chris Wingard and Chase Hare and Maaliyah; grandchildren, Jarrett, Jaxson, Mia, Camdyn, and Stetson; sister, Shelley Lee; niece and nephew, Kylie and Landon Lee; brother-in-law, Scott Beasley and wife, Megan and their children Collin and Jake Beasley; and the mother of his children, Renee Turnage.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home of Tony and Tammy in Pikeville.
