Coats, NC: Mrs. Teresa Jane Johnson Jernigan, age 67, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be held-2:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Red Hill PFWB Church in Coats. Officiating will be Rev. Kim Strickland. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

Mrs. Jernigan was born on March 31, 1959 in Harnett County to P.J. and Jeanette Daniel Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the heart of her family. She was a woman of remarkable strength who faced life's challenges with determination, never giving up no matter the obstacles before her. Known for her selfless nature, she always put the needs of others before her own, offering kindness, compassion, and a helping hand to anyone in need. She had a special love for animals, especially her horses, which brought her immense joy throughout her life. She lived her life guided by faith and love. She also found great happiness in the horse community as a member of the EZ Run Pro Barrel Racing Association and the Broadslab Riding Club. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her family.

Surviving includes her husband of 49 years, Ricky Jernigan; daughters, Patsy Lynne McDougald and husband, Tony, Christy Marie Dupree and husband, Donald, and Mindy Kay Williams and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Patrick Jernigan, Caleb Walker, Ronnie Dupree, Maria Walker, Quamane McLeod, Taylor Matthews, Leah Walker, Caley McLeod, and Braxton Williams; 12 great grandchildren; her mother, Jeanette Johnson; sisters, Lois Hupfeld, Jennifer Johnson, and Joyce Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at Red Hill PFWB Church.
