Benson, NC: Mrs. Teresa Allen Barefoot, age, 74, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM-Friday, June 19, 2026 at Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC. Rev. Glenn McCullen will officiate. The family will receive friends following the Graveside Service.

Mrs. Barefoot was born in Johnston County, NC on November 2, 1951, to the late Almon Allen and Leta Grey Barbour Allen Strickland. She was also was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Rampey and Alma Grey Stewart. Mrs. Barefoot was a retired secretary working with Bonders, Block Industries, and CASCO in Raleigh. She was also a homemaker, and enjoyed reading, and NASCAR Racing, however her greatest love was her beloved husband, Wayne, her family, and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed staying informed by watching C-SPAN and never missed an opportunity to share her thoughts and opinions on current events with her family and friends, especially her nephew, Keith.

Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Wayne Barefoot; daughter, April Messer and husband, Mickey; grandchildren, Macy Messer, Matthew Messer, and Ally Messer, and fiancée, Austin; many nieces and nephews.

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers, and are receiving friends at the home of Mickey and April Messer.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the nursing staff on 5 West at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, NC, for their loving care shown to Mrs. Barefoot.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Mary Duncan Public Library, 319 S. Elm Street, Benson, NC 27504.
