Benson, NC: Mrs. Shirley Langdon Parrish, age 92, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, July 16, 2026, at St. Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, Benson, NC. Rev. Wesley Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC.

Mrs. Parrish was born on March 27, 1934 in Johnston County, NC, to the late James Burtus Langdon and Gladys Barbour Langdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton Parrish, brother, Douglas Langdon, and a sister, June Barbour. Mrs. Parrish worked alongside her husband on the farm, and was a homemaker; however, she will always be remembered for keeping children at Grandma Shirley’s Daycare. She was a member of St. Mary’s Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, Benson, NC.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Parrish (Steve Johnson), David Parrish (Gina), Eddie Parrish (Jenny), and Amy P. Barbour (David, III.); grandchildren, Chris Johnson (Jessica), Deanna Pollard (James), Melanie Wiggins (Terry), Jami McLean (Thad), Kyle Browning(Jennifer), Ashley Dukeman (Joey), Madison Parrish, Jeremy Parrish (Mary Beth), Emilee Parker (Daniel), Alison Wommack (Jeffrey), and Holly Barbour (Blake); twenty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, sister, Betty Thomas; special cat, Gracie; several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Julie Reichard for her loving care shown to Mrs. Parrish.
