IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherry Parker
Gosier
May 22, 1959 – February 2, 2026
Mrs. Sherry Parker Gosier, age 66 of Virginia Pine Drive passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM to 1:45PM on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Elizabeth United Methodist Church in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be at 2:00PM at Elizabeth United Methodist Church in Smithfield. Officiating will be Rev. Ramon Wycoff. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Sherry was born on May 22, 1959 in Harnett County to her mother, Barbara Ann Parker Lee and her father, the late William Theron Lee. She was preceded in death by her brother, William “Bill” Theron Lee, Jr.
Sherry is a 1977 graduate of South Johnston High School and received her Associate’s Degree from Johnston Community College. She retired from Four Oaks Elementary School where she was a teacher’s assistant and bus driver for over 28 years. She especially loved working with special needs children.
Sherry loved visiting Mount Airy with husband, Scott, and was able to attend the Autumn Leaves Festival for the last 18 years. She also enjoyed spending time with friends from Colorado and traveling to upstate New York, Dollywood in Tennessee, and the Amish Country in Ohio. Sherry loved talking on the phone with her best friend Mary Smith, watching Hallmark movies, losing herself in a good book, cooking her favorite bundt cake for friends and neighbors, and just spending time with Scott. Sherry was best known for her signature spiked hair, special thanks to Emily Boswell, and she loved having her nails done by Sonny.
Sherry was a very kind and passionate person. She dearly loved her only son, Patrick, and was very proud of the good Christian man, husband, and father he had become. She also dearly loved her mom and her two sisters, and was very thankful for their love and help during her illness. She adored being called GiGi by her three grandchildren, and was very proud of their many accomplishments.
In addition to her mother, Sherry is survived by her husband of 20 years, Scott Gosier, who she lovingly called “Fred”; an only son, Patrick Pope, and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Eva Grace, Emmett, and Eisley Pope; sisters, Sonya McLamb and husband, Jay, Cindy Parrish; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind best friends, Mary Smith and Frances Parrish; special neighbor, Tammie; and her friends from Colorado, Max and Virginia.
The Gosier Family would like to extend a special thank you to Terry, Lisa, and Tonya at the SECU Hospice House for their compassionate care of Sherry during her sickness.
Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.O. Box 1376 Smithfield, NC 27577 (Attn: Hospice Fund).
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
