Four Oaks, NC: Sgt. Tyler Neil Shepard, age 24, of Hayes Road passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Funeral Services will be held-2:00 PM Thursday April 30, 2026 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Pastor David Sutphin. Burial will follow in Lee-Massengill Family Cemetery with Military Honors in Four Oaks, NC.

Tyler was born on August 11, 2001 in Harnett County toand later adopted by his parents, Paul Edward Shepard, Jr. and Joan Bachelder Shepard. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Paul and Melba Shepard and his maternal uncles, Eddie Bachelder, Danny Bachelder, and Max Bachelder. Tyler was an active Sergeant in the United States Marines. He followed in his Dad’s footsteps and bravely served his country, most recently returning from a tour in Iraq. He graduated from South Johnston Highschool in 2018 and served in ROTC, taking on leadership roles early in both Highschool and in his career as a Marine. He was passionate for the people in his life that he loved, especially his family. He enjoyed serving on the security team at his church with his Dad and loved his Mama’s sweet tea and home cooking. He was a person that gave 100 % of himself in every aspect of his life. He will be missed by his family and everyone that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents, Paul and Joan Shepard; maternal grandparents, Dail Bachelder and Clelma Bachelder; siblings, Alisa Owens and husband, Cory, Cody Shepard and wife, Brittany, Tiffany Shepard, Chris Shepard, and Mary Benson and husband, Thomas; nieces and nephews, Brody, Chandler, McKenzie, Jensen, Graylee, Carter, Aubrey, and Brooklyn; his aunts, Karla Johnson, Debbie Jenkins, and Connie Parker; and best friend, Mikey Velazquez.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the service at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks.
