Samuel C. Price, Sr.

Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Samuel Coolidge Price, Sr. age 89 of 8220 US Hwy 301 passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. A private funeral service for immediate family only will be held 6:00PM Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Oliver's Grove Baptist Church in Four Oaks. Rev. David Brantley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.              Mr. Price was born on January 5, 1931 to the late Samuel Tilden and Johnnie Allen Price. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catholine Peacock; siblings, Eloise Thomas, Mary Stewart, and Johnnie "Buddy" Stewart. Mr. Price was a barber for 20 years at the Ideal Barbershop in Four Oaks and retired after 20 years as a lieutenant with the Johnston County Correctional Facility in Smithfield.  He was a member of Oliver's Grove Baptist Church and a US Army veteran.              Survivors include his children, Dianne Butler and husband, Ricky of Benson, Roger Price and wife, Pam of Four Oaks, Sam Price Jr. and wife, Dina of Four Oaks, Cathy Beasley and husband, Danny of Benson; nine grandchildren, Jamie Butler, Ashley and Katey Butler, Jonathan and Jade Butler, Drew Price, Lauren and Sean Parker, Samuel and Allison Price, Kaitlyn and Cameron Hall, Jordan and Heather Beasley, Kaylee Beasley; nine great-grandchildren, Logan Tyler, Josie Tyler, Samuel Butler, Abby Parker, Nolan Parker, Riley Marie Price, Gerard "Gere" Samuel Hall, Saylor Carolyn Price, Adeline Leigh Hall; brothers, Tom Price and wife, Janice, Gilbert Price and wife, Beth both of Four Oaks; sister, Lib Weaver of Durham and many beloved nieces and nephews.             In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to Oliver's Grove Baptist Church, 8715 Hwy. 301 South, Four Oaks, NC 27524.             Mr. Price will lay in state 9:00AM to 4:00PM on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks. Due to the current health concerns, the Price Family regrets that you are unable to join them for the services. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. The family will hold a celebration of Mr. Price's life at a later date where all of his family and friends are welcomed to attend.
