Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Ronnie Russell Lassiter, age 80, of Lassiter Pond Road, Four Oaks passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Scott Johnson. Burial will follow in Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Smithfield.

 

Mr. Lassiter was born on April 26, 1943 in Johnston County to the late Russell and Carrie Lassiter. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 31 years, Margie Dunn Lassiter, his brothers-in-law, Paul Dunn, Ervin Dunn, and Roy Dunn. Mr. Lassiter was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church. Mr. Lassiter was a farmer and business owner.  He loved the land he was born on and lived on all of his life. Mr. Lassiter’s heart was in the warm soil beneath his feet and in his hands.  He loved to fish and hunt as well.  Ronnie and Judy spent many happy years fishing at the coast. Mr. Lassiter loved his family with all of his heart.  He was truly a gentleman and was kind to everyone he knew.  He delighted in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Mr. Lassiter’s first love was farming but he also loved and enjoyed his time at White Lake.  He was owner and operator of SunDeck Apartments, that later became Lassiter’s of White Lake.  He enjoyed seeing his guests return each year for their vacations.

 

Surviving includes his wife of 29 years, Judy Lassiter; daughter, Tammy Adams and husband, Gary of Benson; son, Stan Lassiter and wife, Carol of Four Oaks; stepsons, Kirk Hudson and wife, Glenda of Newton Grove, Michael Hudson of the home; brother, Jimmy Lassiter and wife, Vicki of Princeton; brothers-in-law, Ira Lee Dunn and wife, Judy of Princeton and Ernie Dunn of Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Dunn of Wilmington, Jean Edwards and husband, Wayne of Four Oaks; grandchildren, Blake Adams and wife Tiffany of Benson, Tyler Adams and wife Sarah of Four Oaks, Cory Adams, Morgan Lassiter (Luke), Taylor Hudson (Owen), and Lindsey Griffin and husband Jon; great-grandchildren, Blake Adams Jr, Hamilton Adams, Mariannah Adams, John William Adams, Eva Mae Adams, Jack Benton Adams, Rilyn Bradford, Kenslie Griffin, and Ellie Brook Griffin; numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Special recognition for his caregivers; Brenda Thornton, Deborah Faulkner, Maggie Buffey, Pam Thomas, Will Windsor, and Michael Hudson.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 9, 2023 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks and other times at the home.
