Benson, NC: Mr. Robert “Bob” Marcus Anderson, Jr., age 79, of NC-50 N. passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026 at his residence. A Private Graveside Service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was born on February 21, 1947 in Craven County to the late Robert Marcus and Irene Cole Anderson. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Anderson and his brother-in-law, Willie Young. He was a good man with a kind and caring soul who touched the lives of those around him. A proud veteran of the United States Navy, he carried with him the values of dedication, strength, and service throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family, and a loving companion to his beloved furbabies, who brought him great joy. He will be remembered for his generous heart, gentle spirit, unwavering love for his family, and the kindness he showed to others. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving includes sisters-in-law, Doris Smith and husband, Ricky and Libby Young; brother-in-law, Billy Young and wife, Joann; as well as many nieces and nephews and friend, Julian.
