Benson, NC: Mr. Robert Junior Blackmon, age 93, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Emerald Health and Rehab in Lillington, NC surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 2:45PM on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church in Benson. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00PM Sunday, August 9, 2026 at Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church in Benson. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Community Mausoleum in Benson, NC.

Mr. Blackmon was born on March 31, 1933 in Johnston County, NC to the late Nathan and Lula Holmes Blackmon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Lee Blackmon; daughter, Peggy Ruth Creech; sisters and brothers, Alene B. McLamb, Eloise B. Wood, Irene B. Wood, Shelton Blackmon, James Blackmon, and Atlas Blackmon. Mr. Blackmon was a retired farmer and co-owner of Kay’s Shoes and Dot’s Lingerie in Benson with his wife, Mildred. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar and singing with The Good Ole Boys. Mr. Blackmon loved working in his yard. He was a member of Stone’s Creek Advent Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon, and Elder.

Surviving include his daughter, Brookie Ellis and husband, Lyn; son-in-law, Bobby Ray Creech; grandchildren, Dawn Creech, Jana Brown and husband, Danny, Carla Brooke Warren and husband, Adam; and Tony Ellis; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lee Bowling, Jackson Stevens, Dean Brown and Troy Brown; many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Blackmon’s Family would like to extend a grateful appreciation to the staff of Emerald Health and Rehab in Lillington for the love and compassion they showed him.
