Rachel Blackmon Johnson

Benson, NC: Mrs. Rachel Blackmon Johnson, age 82, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 7, 2025 from 1:45PM to 2:45PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Rev. Billy Olsen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lee-Johnson Family Cemetery in Dunn, NC.

Mrs. Johnson was born on December 20, 1942, in Johnston County, NC to the late Oscar Shelton and Mary Johnson Blackmon. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Nathan B. Blackmon. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed buying and selling antiques. She also had a keen eye for opportunity and enjoyed investing in real estate. Mrs. Johnson was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and will be missed deeply by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Ronina Tart and husband, Bob and Roy D. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Blake Huff and wife, Elizabeth, Nicole Barefoot and husband, Hunter, Royce Johnson, Tori Daughtry and husband, Nick, and Tripp Johnson; great-grandchildren, Noah Barefoot, Callie Mae Barefoot, Rylan Huff, Floyd Green, Dallas Green, and Fisher Daughtry; brothers, Leon Blackmon and wife, Susan and Kenneth Ray Blackmon and wife, Pat; sister-in-law, Glenda Blackmon; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcome; however, memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, P.O. Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.

The family will also be receiving friends at the home of Ronina and Bob Tart, 3330 Holly Grove Road Benson, NC 27504.
