Princeton, NC: Mr. Phillip “Phil” Lee Carraway, age 69, of Woodard Road passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. The family will be holding a private graveside service to celebrate his life.

Mr. Carraway was born on April 7, 1957 in Wake County to the late Roy Lee and Lucille Lee Carraway. He was preceded in death by his parents. Prior to retirement, he worked at Champion and in construction. He was a kind, loving, and giving person who loved his family, especially his mother. He was a champion level wrestler in High School and an animal lover.

Survivors include his brother, Michael Carraway and wife, Edith; sister, Joan Smythers and husband, Jimmy; niece, Heather Hendricks; nephew, Jeremy Smythers; great nieces and nephews, Parker Phillips, Maison Phillips, Larry Hendricks, and Madelyn Marie Hendricks; and special cousin, Randy Parrish.
