Benson, NC: Mrs. Peggy Sue Burchett, age 68, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Funeral Services will be 1:00PM Thursday, July 9, 2026 in the Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, NC.

Mrs. Burchett was born on March 15, 1958 in Durham County, NC, to the late Joseph Perry and Delinda Wheely Machado. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her lifetime partner, Stephen Carroll Glover. Mrs. Burchett was a nurse for over 40 years. She was an avid reader and enjoying hunting treasurers at thrift stores and yard sales. Mrs. Burchett loved to dance.

Survivors include her daughter, Alicia Louk and husband, Troy; brother, Jonathan McNamara and wife, Jennifer; six granddaughters; one grandson; and six great-grandchildren.
