Mildred Louise "Millie" Nye

Pine Level, NC: Mrs. Mildred Louise “Millie” Barnes Nye, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. A Private Graveside Service will be held in Floyd Cemetery in Fairmont, NC.

Mrs. Nye was born on September 16, 1928 in Idaho to the late John W. and Margaret B. Sliger Barnes.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Wade Nye.  Mrs. Nye was a homemaker, and enjoyed sporting events, and spending time with her family. 

Survivors include her children, Rene’ Nye, and Dewey Wade Nye, Jr., all of Pine Level, NC; grandchildren, Craig Nye Hardin and wife, Morgan of Benson, NC, and Tyler Gena Hardin and wife, Christina of Princeton, NC; great-grandchildren, Alexis Herring, Madison Herring, Chloe Herring, Mackenzie Herring, Paisley Hardin, Kaizley Herring, Easton Hardin, and Tyler Gena Hardin, Jr.; brother, Elwood Barnes of TN; special neighbor, Pearl Coats; several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to Michelle, and Waynell with Gentiva Hospice, and also Elaine and Robin with Johnston Home Health and Hospice.
