Mildred Lee Blackmon

Mrs. Mildred Lee Blackmon, age 87, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be 6:00PM-Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Rev. Scott Johnson will officiate. A Graveside Committal Service will be held 10:00AM-Friday, August 6, 2021 at Roselawn Community Mausoleum in Benson, NC.

Mrs. Blackmon was born on November 18, 1933 in Johnston County, NC to the late Willis and Clelma Surles Lee. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Rudolph Lee, Randolph Lee, and Royce Lee. For many years, Mrs. Blackmon owned and operated Dot’s Lingerie in Benson, NC was a CNA at Johnston Health, and was also a caregiver. She was a member Stone’s Creek Advent Christian Church outside Benson, NC where she served in many capacities. Mrs. Blackmon found joy in sharing her love with others, and was greatly loved by everyone.

Surviving include her husband of 71 years, Robert Blackmon, daughters, Peggy Creech and husband, Bobby Ray; and Brookie Ellis and husband, Lyn; grandchildren, Dawn Creech, Jana Brown and husband, Danny, Carla Brooke Warren and husband, Adam; and Tony Ellis; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lee, Jackson Stevens, Dean Brown and Troy Brown, sister, Clelma Bachelder and a brother, Bruce Lee; many loving nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC and other times at the home.
