Durham, NC: Mr. Michael Jackson, 64, of 5901 Wilkins Drive, lot number 17, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021at his residence. A Memorial Service will be held June 12, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Kipling United Methodist Church in Kipling, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Melinda Ivey.


Mr. Jackson was born in Wake County on March 11, 1957 to Troy Clinton and Jenny Jones Jackson. He was preceded in death by his father; son, Jeremy; and father-in-law, Elbert Capps; and nephew, Christopher Capps. Mr. Jackson was a fuel truck driver for C.C. Mangum/Fred Smith Company and retired from American Soil and Mulch.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Doris Jackson; mother, Jenny Jackson; mother-in-law, Betty Capps; son, Michael Ray Jackson and wife, Deenita; grandsons, Warren Jackson, Michael Jackson, III, Eryk Burns, and Chance Stancil; sister, Jill Jackson Phipps and husband, Michael; sisters-in-law, Karen Williams and husband Eddie, and Nancy Capps; brother-in-law, Thomas Capps and Shelby Tyndal; niece, Kaylee Williams; nephews, Spencer Lamar Capps and wife Nikki Capps, Matthew Capps, Andrew Capps, and Nathan Phipps; great niece and nephew, Katey and Mason; loving friends, David and Margaret DeVoe and Jay’Viona Ramsey; and fur babies, Half-Pint and Pedro.

Flowers are welcome and memorials may be made to UNC Health Care Hospice Services at 100 Roundtree Way, Pittsboro, NC 27312 in his memory.

In accordance with NC-COVID-19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required for all services.
