Mrs. Wheeler was born on August 19, 1934 in Johnston County, NC, to the late Lundy Leland Lee and Mattie Snead Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Allen Wheeler, grandson, Brandon King, son-in-law, Pete Marino, and siblings, Thurman, Hubert, Eston, Roy, Herman, Elsie, Leacy and Glenn. She lived a full and faithful 91 years, leaving behind a legacy rooted in love, service, and unwavering faith. For 38 years, she devoted her life to caring for others at Smithfield Manor in Smithfield, NC, never seeing it as a job, but a calling. Her love for her family was the center of her world. Widowed at a very young age, she poured herself into each one of her family with a steady, selfless devotion. She found joy in the simple blessings of life, from working in her yards, tending her garden, and using the work of her hands to bless others. Whether she was canning vegetables, filling freezers, making apple jacks, or preparing meals for her family, church family, or anyone in need, her hands were rarely still and always serving. She loved the Lord deeply, and genuinely loved others, and was a faithful member of Unity Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks, NC.

Survivors include her children, Annette W. King, and husband, Craig, Rosa W. Jones and husband, Eddie, Sue W. Johnson and husband, Ronnie, and Betty W. Marino; grandchildren, Karen Herring and husband, Damion, Tonia Dixon and husband, Brian, Brian Johnson and wife, April, Allen Roberts and wife, Melissa, Olivia Parrott and husband, Josh, and Mary Matthews and husband, Eric; great-grandchildren, Colby Jones and wife, Hayley, Cannon Raynor, Andrew Roberts, Bryce Dixon, Sawyer Johnson, Addalen Johnson, Mattie Parrott, Maryanna Parrott, Mia Roberts, Zeke Parrott, Kayla Matthews and Kelsey Matthews; great-great-grandchildren, Ledger Jones, and Archer Jones; brother, Cecil Lee and wife, Carolyn; sisters-in-law, Shirley Wheeler, and Linda Wheeler; brother-in-law, Otha Wheeler and wife, Barbara; special nephew, Chris Lee, and many other loving nieces and nephews.
