Mary Belle Johnson Norman
Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Mary Belle Johnson Norman, age 91, formerly of State Road, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehab Center in Erwin, NC. Graveside Funeral Services will be 2:00PM, Monday, November 1, 2021 at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, 1997 Pleasant Ridge Road, State Road, NC 28676. Rev. John I. Norman, Jr. will officiate.
Mrs. Norman was born on December 11, 1929 in Surry County, NC to the late Clyde and Flora Collins Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John I. Norman, sisters, Irene Royal and Lorene Tulbert and a brother, Eugene Johnson. Mrs. Norman had a diverse employment history. She worked as a telephone operator, co-owner of Norman’s Men’s Shop in Elkin, NC, bookkeeper for Spainhour’s Department Store in Elkin, NC, and for the Visitor’s Center of Stone Mountain State Park. Mrs. Norman was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in State Road, NC, where she enjoyed singing in the choir and participating in various ministries and groups.
Surviving include her son, Rev. John I. Norman, Jr. and wife, Michele; grandchildren, Meilyn and Laley Norman; brothers, Curtis Johnson and wife, Betty, David Johnson and wife, Arlene, Edward Johnson and wife, Mary Sue, and Joey Johnson and wife, Arlene; sister-in-law, Stella Mae Norman Golden; brother-in-law, Kenneth Wood; many loving nieces and nephews.
There will be an open-door visitation from 9:00AM-5:00PM-Friday, October 29, 2021 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC. The family will not be present during this time; however, they appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
On Monday, November 1, 2021 from 1:15PM-1:50PM, Mrs. Norman will be available for viewing at the church cemetery prior to the funeral service.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are not required, but are kindly recommended for all services.
