Mary Magdalene "Maggie" Moore Taylor

Denton, NC: Mrs. Mary Magdalene “Maggie” Moore Taylor, age 84, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at her residence.  Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church 1771 NC HWY 50 S. Benson, NC 27504.  Mr. Ronnie Dunn will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Taylor was born on December 25, 1939 in Johnston County, NC, to the late Eustace Greene Moore and Venie Velma Barefoot Moore Massengill.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph Dale Taylor, grandson, Jamie Powell, and her brothers, Melvin Moore and Jerry Moore.  Mrs. Taylor was a retired social worker with the Salvation Army in Fayetteville, NC.  She loved her family, enjoyed cooking, and craft painting. Mrs. Taylor will always be remembered for her desire to keep learning no matter her age. She loved to travel with her family to the Whaler Inn Resort at the beach, to Oakmont Resort in Pigeon Forge, TN, and loved entertaining friends and family at High Rock Lake, where they currently reside.  Mrs. Taylor and her husband, Jim were always very active in the communities in which they have lived.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, James H. “Jim” Taylor; son, Stoney Dean Taylor and wife, Pam, of Denton, NC; daughter, Marilyn L. Moore of Angier, NC; daughter-in-law, Wanda Taylor of Eastover, NC; grandchildren, Jessica Giles and husband, Kelly, Brianna Taylor and fiancé Colin, and Brittany Lee and husband, Seth; great-grandchildren, Jayden Giles, Addison Giles, Jamis Luke Giles, Aviana Giles, Thane Lee, Ava Lee, and J.W. Lee; sisters, Lorease Hayes, Wilma Dunn and husband, Ronnie; and Pamela Tyler; brother, Marshall Massengill, and wife, Joyce; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM-Friday, January 19, 2024 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
