Lorraine B King

Smithfield, NC: Lorraine B. King, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on June 22, 2025, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 19, 1936, in Johnston County, North Carolina, she was a beloved figure who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc., located at 5820 US Hwy 301, P.O. Box 605, Four Oaks, NC 27524. The service will be officiated by Rev. Harold Brown, with burial to follow at Barbours Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Four Oaks.

Lorraine is remembered fondly for her passion for gardening, nurturing both plants and her family with equal devotion. Her strong bonds with her loved ones were a defining element of her life, and she embraced every moment spent with them, instilling in her family a deep sense of love and togetherness.

She is survived by her son, Michael McLamb and his wife, Juli; grandsons Kyle McLamb, William McLamb and his wife, Sumer, and Cody Powell and his wife, Courtney; granddaughter Caci Pettus and her husband, Christain; as well as her great-grandchildren, Vivian McLamb, Julia Narron, Taylor McNair, Karsyn McNair, Austin Owen, and Mason Owen. Her brothers, Marshall Blackmon and his wife, Sue, Bruce Blackmon and his wife, Carleane, Ronnie Blackmon and his wife, Teresa, and Danny Blackmon and his wife, Betty, will also carry on her legacy of love and family connection.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Frank Blackmon and Bessie Johnson Blackmon; her brother, Frank Blackmon, Jr.; her sisters, MayBelle Norris, Melvine Parrish, and Angeline Parker; as well as her husbands, Dennis McLamb and Larry King. Their memories will remain cherished in the hearts of those who survive her.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks. 

Lorraine's presence in the lives of her family and friends will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to flourish through the love and memories she leaves behind.
