Leslie Gerald Strickland

Dunn, NC: Mr. Leslie Gerald Strickland, age 88, of Natures Way passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at his residence with his family by his side. A Memorial Service will be held-2:00 PM Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Strickland was born on October 18, 1937 in Wayne County to the late Chellie Alice Strickland. Along with his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Strickland and children, Danny Strickland and Geraldine McGary. He was a man who lived life with a sense of adventure, charm, and a great love for the people and things that brought him joy. A lifelong pilot, he loved nothing more than being in the air and experiencing the freedom of flight. He had a soft spot for his beloved dog, Lady, and could never resist a sweet treat, a cold Pepsi, or a good margarita. With his natural charm and unmistakable personality, he was a true ladies’ man who knew how to make people smile. But above all, family was at the heart of his life. He treasured every moment spent with those he loved, and his great-grandchildren were truly the highlight of his life. They brought him immeasurable joy, and the love he had for them was evident in every smile, story, and moment they shared together. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving includes his children, James Strickland, Angela Faubus and husband, Gary, and Leslie Williford and husband, Vernon; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Evans and Greta Ward; brothers, Wallace Strickland and Dwight Strickland; and many nieces and nephews.
