Dunn, NC: Mrs. Laura Faye Rhodes Barefoot, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM Monday, January 19, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Rev. Wayne Dunn and Rev. C.H. Lee will officiate. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.

Mrs. Barefoot was born on May 13, 1938 in Johnston County, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gurtha Allen and Lessie Rhodes Allen, her husband, James Corbett Barefoot, her grandparents, Charlie N. Rhodes and Eliza Rhodes, and a brother and several sisters. Mrs. Barefoot was the owner and operator of Laura’s Beauty Shop, and was also a caregiver for many elderly ladies. She never met a stranger, and was loved by her family. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church for many years.

Survivors include her daughters, Karren Lee and husband, Jerry, and Jilda McGee and husband, Marty; grandchildren, Joshua Lee and wife, Emily, James Michael Lee and Lee Ellen, William McGee and wife, Ashley, and Jarod Aguilar; great-grandchildren, Paisley McGee and Aubrey McGee; adoptive daughter and her family, Wanda Wheeler; many nieces and nephews.
