Garner, NC: Mr. Kenneth Horne, age 73, of Garner passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at UNC Johnston Health in Clayton. Memorial Service will be held-2:00 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Mr. Horne was born on June 30, 1952 in Robeson County to the late Buford and Willie Mae Britt Horne. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne Horne and brother, Wallace Horne. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation after many years; he remained interested in the engineering of new road work projects even after retirement. Mr. Horne loved many things, including trains, outdoors, music of any kind, and old sci-fi movies and cartoons. He had a tradition of eating with his family every Sunday and enjoyed his favorite foods, fried chicken, coconut pie, banana pudding, and his daughter’s chicken pastry. More than anything else, he loved his family, especially his grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Surviving includes his daughter, Regan McGee and husband, Christopher; son, Harrison Horne; grandchildren, Noah Blair and girlfriend, Jessica Mance and Aidan Blair; sisters, Claudette Walker and husband, John and Phyllis Watson and husband, Melvin; brothers, Robert Horne and wife, Cathie and Jim Ours; sister-in-law, Ann Horne; and many nieces and nephews.
