Julia Ann Byrd Wilkie

Mrs. Julia Ann Byrd Wilkie, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 12:30PM-1:45PM, Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Coats Baptist Church in Coats, NC in the sanctuary prior to the funeral service. Funeral Services will be held 2:00PM, Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Coats Baptist Church in Coats. NC. Revs. Jesse Mooney and Neal Thornton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Angier.

Mrs. Wilkie was born on September 17, 1943, in Sampson County, NC to the late Robert Lester and Ethel Gaskins Byrd. She was a retired 3rd Grade teacher with Coats Elementary School after 30 years of service. Mrs. Wilkie was a devoted member of Coats Baptist Church and served in many capacities. She enjoyed recreating old memories through painting. Mrs. Wilkie was passionate about her weekly bible study and bonding with close friends through prayer. One of her great passions later in life was the times she spent with her eleven grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Charles Everett Wilkie; children, Steven Wilkie and wife, Tara, Ashley Wilkie and wife, Christine, Bradley Wilkie and wife, Ember; grandchildren, Adaya, Claire, Elliot, Lauren, Solomon, Lily, Glorielle, Hannah, Caleb, Isaac, and Cora.

In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering through the International Mission Board at imb.org.
