Joyce Denton

Mrs. Joyce Turlington Denton, age 76, of 697 Bradley Road died Tuesday at Harnett Woods Nursing Home in Dunn. Funeral services will be 2:00PM Saturday at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jeffery Jones, Rev. Guy Owens, Dr. J.D. Norris and Rev. Rick Washington. Burial will follow in the Denton Family Cemetery. Mrs. Denton was born April 29, 1935 in Harnett County to Nellie Nordan Turlington of Coats and the late Ralph Turlington. Mrs. Denton was a retired office manager with the Department of Motor Vehicles. She attended Coats High School and Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN.  Joyce was married to Rev. James T. Denton for 61 years, at together they were the founder and pastor of Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to her mother, includes, Husband of 61 years, Rev. James T. Denton; Daughter, Sandi Baker of Fuquay Varina; Son, Dale Denton of Fuquay Varina; Four Grandchildren; Three Step Grandchildren; Eight Great Grandchildren; Four Step Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Libby Cockrell of Swansboro and Faye Cornell of AZ; and Brothers, Jack Turlington of Sparta, NC and Rev. Floyd Turlington of Coats. Family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM Saturday prior to the service at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church, Hwy 401 North, Fuquay Varina, NC.
