Joseph "Joe" Michael Preston

Smithfield, NC: Mr. Joseph “Joe” Michael Preston, age 44, died Sunday, March 5, 2023 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh surrounded by his loving family. Memorial Services will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Four Oaks. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Clayborne.

Joe was born March 22, 1978 in Ohio to Cindy Huffman Flowers of Plain City, Ohio and to the late Wilson Clark Preston, Jr. He taught math at American Leadership Academy in Clayton. Joe was an avid Buckeye’s fan, involved in his local politics and community affairs. His greatest enjoyment in life was being a husband and dad.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Aurora M. Preston; daughter, Olivia Preston of the home; sisters, Kari Williams and husband, Chad of South Carolina; step-mother, Karen Preston of California; half-sister, Alicia Preston of California; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service.
