Coats, NC: Mr. Joseph “Joe” Bryan Ennis, age 81, of Red Hill Church Road passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday, December 18, 2025 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Coats. Rev. David Smithey will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ennis was born in Harnett County, NC on February 24, 1944, to the late John Alves and Mary Louise Baker Ennis. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mike Ennis and a daughter, Melissa Ennis; and a step-son, Marcus Johnson. Mr. Ennis retired from Ace Fabrication in Smithfield. He was a jack-of-trades, was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Ennis enjoyed sitting in his shop, drinking his coffee and reflecting on life. He enjoyed working in his yards cutting wood, riding his four-wheeler and tractor. Mr. Ennis enjoyed taking Old Blue for joy rides along with his dog, Raleigh. He was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in Coats.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Charlotte P. Ennis; daughter, Amy Eubanks; grandchildren, Lauren Eubanks and Aiden Eubanks; step-daughters, Heather Barefoot and husband, Anthony; Dorey Johnson; granddaughter, Haley Barefoot; step-grandchildren, Dylan Honeycutt and wife, Lauren, Henry Johnson, and Jack Johnson; brother, John Ennis; sister, Linda Kimbrough; and several nieces and nephews.
