Coats - John M. Zuvic left our world to be in God's hands in Eternal Life Friday, September 4, 2026. He died peacefully at home with his daughter at his side at the age of 92. John was born on November 2, 1933 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Hell's Kitchen in Manhattan, N.Y.C.
After graduating high school John had worked along side his father Nick on Tugboats in the city. He eventually was employed as an Elevator Operator in the Flat Iron Building of Metropolitan Life Insurance. His strong work ethic rose him to the ranks of getting employed there in IT at Metropolitan Life where his career spanned 25 years.
When John was 20 years old he met the Love of his Life Eleanor at a dance. They married February 11, 1955 and had been together 66 years before her passing.
John especially loved going with his family to the the track to participate in Horse Racing. He also enjoyed going to Atlantic City every summer with his wife and daughter. He was an avid reader of mostly history and the Roman Catholic faith books.
John moved to North Carolina with his daughter after his wife passed in 2021 to be closer to his Grandson and rest of his family. He became the Patriarch of our family. He was a very devoted Roman Catholic and a Member of the Stigmata Fraternity in Update N.Y.
John was predeceased by his parents Katherine and Nick and sister Anna and brother Joseph.
John is survived by his daughter Rosanne, Grandson Thomas and his wife Sara along with his two beautiful Great Granddaughters Riley and Dani. He is also survived by his Granddaughter Brianna and her long time love Joseph Colacicco.
Words can not express the amount of Love we all have for John and how much of him we will always carry in our hearts.
There will be a family and close friends visitation on Saturday afternoon. September 12, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats.
