John Edward Neighbors

John Edward Neighbors, born on March 26, 1966, in Harnett County, North Carolina, passed away at home in Dunn, North Carolina, on November 22, 2025. He was a man of profound faith whose belief in the Lord sustained him through life’s many challenges.

A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home Inc., located at 301 W. Main St., Benson, NC 27504. The service will be officiated by James Holt and Melinda Yule.  Visitation will follow after the funeral service.

John possessed a deep love for the outdoors, and one of his favorite pastimes was fishing, where he found peace and joy in nature’s tranquility. He also had a great appreciation for good food, sharing meals and making memories with friends and family. His warmth and kindness made him a beloved figure among those who knew him, especially within his close spiritual family.

He is survived by his sister, Cathy Lee Neighbors Battle, and her husband, Greg. Additionally, he leaves behind his Uncle Thomas Edward Hodges and his wife, Jan, as well as cousins Mickey Hodges and his wife, Stacy, and Thomma Elizabeth Hodges Kufchak and husband, Joe along with Katie Thomas Hodges.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Bruce Neighbors and Sandra Lee Hodges Neighbors, who will be lovingly remembered alongside him.

John will be profoundly missed, but his faith, spirit, and love for others will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
