JoAnne Ennis Turlington

Dunn, NC: Mrs. JoAnne Ennis Turlington, age 89, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home 301 W. Main Street, Benson, NC 27504. Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM-Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church 2900 Ebenezer Church Road, Coats, NC 27521. Revs. Scott Fitzgerald and David Smithey will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

JoAnne was born on October 1, 1935, in Harnett County, NC, to the late Delmer Ennis and Geneva Stephenson Ennis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, T.J., her sister, Marjorie Ennis Smith, and her son-in-law, Roy Randall Byrd, Jr. JoAnne graduated from Coats High School in 1953, and she and her classmates just celebrated their 72nd class reunion on June 7, 2025. JoAnne married the love of her life, T.J. in December 1953. She and T.J. farmed, and owned and operated Turlington Feed & Seed in Dunn for several years. JoAnne had several jobs in her life, but the most important to her was as a wife, and a mother. She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, canning, picking out pecans, and cooking. She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church since 1947, and loved the Lord and her church.

Survivors include her daughters, Janice (Richard) Duryea, Debbie (Vinny) Bryce, Kathy (Scott) Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Adam (Leigh) Byrd, Amy (Zachary) Hurlocker, Morgan Fitzgerald, and Taylor Fitzgerald; her great-grandchildren, Brantley, LilyAnne, and Deacon Byrd, and Shelby and Sadie Hurlocker; her loving brother, Kenneth Ennis and his love, Bernice Rodriguez; many nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Ebenezer Presbyterian Church PO Box 397, Coats, NC 27521.
