Jimmie Scott Walker, 68, of Coats, North Carolina, passed away on June 11, 2026, at his home in Coats. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Coats. Scott was born on May 11, 1958 in Coats to Stacy & Clevene Walker. He grew up in Coats and graduated from Coats Highschool before achieving a degree from Wake Technical Community College. Known for his quick wit and generous spirit, Scott touched countless lives through his work as a renowned surveyor of 30+ years, his love of lazy days at the lake, and his unwavering devotion to family.

He is survived by his life-long love, devoted wife & best friend, Wilma Jo Walker whom he married in 1984 and spent an incredible 42 years of life and adventure with. Following their wedding they settled down in Coats on family land gifted by his father Stacy, where Scott would go on to build their dream home with its completion in 1991 where they would share a very brief reprieve before welcoming their first child on November 27, 1992 his beloved daughter Lindsay Jo, whom throughout the daytime was a competitive match for her father in intellect, wit, and smart mouth humor and at night his movie/TV watching co-pilot of their shared favorites such as Star Wars, Home Improvement, and Night Court. All while she got her mandatory back rubs and inevitably fell asleep laying on him. A few years would pass before Scott would meet his mirror image, his son, Travis Scott. Born in the year 2000, on the 2nd of December. Travis would go on to be more than just a spitting image of his father but a reflection of his devotion in hard work and mechanical aptitude all learned while holding a flash light the “incorrect” way and helping his father with countless projects. The Walker family would go on to make incredible memories - especially when visiting their favorite summer break retreat; White Lake, where Scott & Wilma spent many years together even before the birth of their children.

Out of all the beautiful years with his beloved wife and children, Scott would find one of the greatest joys of his life in 2016 when his grandson Easton Jacob Coats, the son of Lindsay Jo, would come into this world looking like a replica of the Walker genes. Easton would take over for his mother Lindsay, becoming the next generation of movie/TV watching co-pilots all while laying on his Papa, sneaking a late night bowl of ice cream and also inevitably falling asleep.

Scott is also survived by his two siblings. His older brother Steve Walker with his wife Janice Walker and his baby sister Susan Walker and their respective families.
