A private burial is to follow.

Casey was born to Mary and Jarvis Jones on April 28th, 1950, in Harnett County, North Carolina. They preceded him in death, along with his beloved critters—horses, dogs, and cats. He graduated from Buies Creek High School in 1968 and Campbell College with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. After college, he worked at Kelly Springfield Tire Company. After a year, he moved on to a position as an auditor with the NC Justice Department, traveling across the state and working there for eight years. He then worked with several men and fifteen ladies at the North Carolina State Department of Administration, a job he loved. He received The Order of the Longleaf Pine award, ending his career with thirty-four years.

He met and married his wife Ann in 1977, moving to live on a farm known as C Bar A Ranch, raising, training, and showing quarter horses. He was always willing to work and practice to make them champions. He and Ann participated in the North Carolina Quarter Horse Association for forty-seven years, winning many year-end awards. He encouraged Ann to own a craft shop, Creative Critters, allowing her to travel out of the state and provide unique items. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He later encouraged Ann to return to teaching, building her creative ideas into games for her students.

They became Coats Area Chamber of Commerce members and served their community for 45 years. Casey agreed to be the Chairman of the Farmer’s Day Farm Equipment Show and later co-chaired it with Curt Honeycutt. After he finished his last horse championship, he retired to begin buying and restoring old antique tractors. He joined the Classic Antique Power and CATPA Puller’s Association. He loved the speed of the working tractor and getting back to the dirt he tended in his plow day shows. When bored, he plowed one of the neighboring farm’s fields in the afternoon. In his last years, he purchased farmland to help farmers losing land to home developers. For five years, he concentrated on improving his farm and forestry land to improve the farming industry.

The family will receive friends following the service. Flowers or donations to the Coats Methodist Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 388, Coats, N.C. 27521, are welcome.
