James Edward Taylor

Cary, NC: Mr. James Edward Taylor, age 91, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC.  Graveside Funeral Service will be 2:00PM, Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens 4509 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304. Pastor Kim Harris will officiate.

Mr. Taylor was born on August 6, 1932 in Gilford County, NC to the late Edgar Turner Taylor and Thelma Taylor Vaughn.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Anne Taylor, sister, Shirley Seawell and a brother, Artis Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was a US Air Force Veteran, proudly serving our country for 26 years.  Following his military service, he worked and retired from Croft Metals.

Survivors include his daughters, Sandy Huffer of Clayton, NC, and Cynthia Moore of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Chase Huffer and Taylor Catoe; great-grandchildren, Abbey Huffer, Adley Catoe, and Brynn Catoe; sister, Janice Degree; several nieces and nephews.
