Four Oaks, NC: Mr. James Gordon Jackson, age 90, of NC Hwy 96 South passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by his loving family. The family will receive friends from 9:30AM to 10:45AM Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Lees Chapel Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, NC. Officiating will be Rev. Rodney Raby. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Jackson was born in Sampson County, NC, on March 12, 1936 to the late Ruby James and Eunice Mae Barefoot Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Ann Moore Jackson; sister, Margie Burgess; and a brother, Homer Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a retired agriculture mechanic for 75 years. He was a charter member of the Four Oaks Rescue Squad serving for over 20 years. Mr. Jackson loved being part of the Classic Antique Power, Inc. Tractor Club and the Southland Car Club where he showed his tractors and cars. He loved traveling to Denton, NC being a part of the Old Time Threshers Reunions where he displayed his antique corn shellers. Mr. Jackson had the unique ability of filling up his yard and building with “treasures”. He was a faithful member of Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church where he served as Sexton and Deacon for many years, and many other capacities.
Survivors include his daughters, Phoebe Allen and husband, L.B. and Kathy Stephenson and husband, James; grandchildren, Dwane Allen and wife, Whitney, Anna Allen and husband, Ashley, Braxton Stephenson and wife, Chrissy; great-grandchildren, Pierce Stephenson, Sully Stephenson, Cameron Allen, Mariyah Allen, Joy Allen, Bethany Allen, Braelyn Allen, Jackson Allen, and Lucas Layman; sisters, Betty Austin, Patsy Wise, and Patricia Stanley; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends other times at the home of Phoebe and L.B. Allen.
