James Timothy Benson, Jr.

Benson, NC: Mr. James Timothy Benson, Jr., age 53 of Wood’s Crossroads Road passed away on October 28, 2025. Memorial Services will be held 3:00PM Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Cashwell and  Mr. Barry Barbour. The family will receive friends following the service.

Tim was born on March 24, 1972 in Harnett County. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Annie Pope; paternal grandparents, James Benson and J.C. and Esther Smith; a special grandmother, Monica Anders; a nephew, Hudson Williamson; and his best friend, Dwayne Braswell. Tim was a truck driver for 33 years and currently worked for A. J. Transport. He loved fast cars and keeping them spotless. He lived life to the fullest and always kept everyone laughing. Tim enjoyed traveling to the mountains and listening to his father sing. He loved all his family and friends but especially being a PaPa and was so excited about becoming an uncle in February. He also enjoyed taking Kamrie beaver hunting and riding four wheelers with J.T. Tim’s hero in life was his father and gives credit to his truck driving career to him and he always claimed to be a Mama’s boy.

He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Catina Benson; his parents, James Timothy, Sr., and Linda Pope Benson; children, Kamrie Benson, J. T. Benson, III, and girlfriend, Lauryn Fields, Dinalee Spell, and Zachary Norris; grandchildren, Everleigh Spell and Lainey Koch; sister, Jessica Williamson and friend, Matt Howcroft; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; special dog, Dixie.
