Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Jackie LaRue Johnson Benson, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM-3:45PM, Monday, October 12, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC. Funeral Services will follow at 4:00PM in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Burnell Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Jessie Brock will officiate.

Mrs. Benson was born on June 12, 1946 in Johnston County, NC, to the late Jonah Johnson and Mary Edith Hargis Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward “Tom” Benson, son, Smitty Edward Benson, and siblings, Curtis Johnson, Keith Johnson, Mabel Massengill, Joel Johnson, Carl Johnson, and Lyndon Johnson. Mrs. Benson was a homemaker and a member of Burnell Baptist Church Four Oaks, NC. She loved working in her yards, shopping, and playing games with her family, however her greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Jan Benson Rhodes and husband, Jervis; Joy Benson Canaday and husband, Jonathan; and Jill Benson Norris and husband, Keven; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Benson; grandchildren, Brittany Benson, Hunter Benson and wife, Leanna, Cody Norris and wife, Caroline, Colton Norris, Abby Rhodes, Nathan Canaday and wife, Savannah, Addison Canaday, and Jennifer Norris; great-grandchildren, Ava and Houstin Bryant, and Clay Norris; sisters, Brenda Atkins, and Teresa Adams and husband, Greg; many nieces and nephews.

Flowers are welcomed; however, memorials may be made to Burnell Baptist Building Fund C/O Angie Thomas 238 Roping Horn Way, Willow Spring, NC 27592
