Benson, NC: Mrs. Irene House Capps Raynor, age 95, of 1842B NC Hwy 242 South Benson, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Mrs. Raynor was born on September 30, 1930 in Sampson County, NC. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Troy and Lillian House. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Raynor; several brothers and sisters; son-in-laws, Raeford Beasley and Melbourne David Manning II; step-son, Tony Raynor; and special friends, Sue Pearce and Julius Ivey.

Mrs. Irene Raynor retired from the Merdoch Center as a dietician after 20 years of service. Irene was a well-known restauranteur in the local area including The Blue Top, Sue’s, and Capps Truck Stop. She loved shopping, eating out at her favorite restaurants, spending time with her family, and caring for others. When not shopping or having a delicious meal, Irene could be found somewhere dancing and listening to music.

She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Beasley and Sheila Manning; six grandchildren, April Taylor and husband Sidney W. Taylor, Valerie Beasley Ennis and husband, Steven Ennis, Melbourne David Manning III and wife, Cher; ten great grandchildren, Ashtin Hueber, Jared Taylor, Callie Gillian, Jack Taylor, Josie Ferrell, Vivian Siebert, Beasley Siebert, Drake Ennis, Colt Ennis, and Ava Grace Ennis; six great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends including Ronnie and Cathy Hardison. 

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time, and they are receiving friends and family at the home of Mrs. Irene Raynor. A special memorial service is being planned in her honor, time and date to be determined.
