After a courageous journey with Lewy body dementia, Hugh Gregory passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. The family will receive friends from 10:45AM-11:45AM-Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will follow at 12:00PM in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier, NC. The family will hold a reception following the funeral service at the home of Neal Gregory 22 Ennis Farm Lane, Buies Creek, NC 27506.

While this illness marked the end of his life, it does not define who he was. He will be remembered for his strength, unwavering work ethic, and above all, the love he had for his family, friends, and pets.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Julia; his daughter, Natalie Theodorakis; sons, Jonathan Gregory, Eric Hermelbracht and his wife, Christen, and Brett Hermelbracht; his beloved grandchildren include Alex Theodorakis and his wife, Julia, Jonathan Gregory, Jr., Lane and Caroline Hermelbracht, children of Eric and Christen, and Caleb Hermelbracht, son of Brett. He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Sophia Theodorakis. By his side, until the end, were his faithful four-legged companions, especially Shorty.
