Graylon Raynor

November 30, 1925 — August 13, 2018

Benson:  Mr. Graylon Raynor, age 92, of 200-B Allen's Crossroad Road died Monday August 13, 2018 at The Oaks at Mayview in Raleigh.  Funeral services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church, Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Brown.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.              Mr. Raynor was born November 30, 1925 in Johnston County to the late Carl and Ila Hudson Raynor. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Melvere Rhodes Raynor; and a sister, Retha Pearl Raynor.  Mr. Raynor served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Banner Post 109.  He was a farmer and was the owner and operator of a service station.  Mr. Raynor retired as a power plant operator for Dorothea Dix.  He was a member of Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church.              Surviving are son & daughter-in-law, Donald Lynn & Glenda Gail Raynor of Raleigh; daughter & son-in-law, Diana Gail & Wayne Walker of Daytona Beach, FL; sisters, Edna Earle McLamb of Benson and Joyce Faye Gebhardt of New Hyde Park, NY; brother, David Shelton Raynor of Nashville, TN; grandsons & spouses, Kevin & Connie Ingram and Chris & Denise Raynor; great grandsons, David Ingram and Bailey Raynor; and great great grandson, Landon Ingram.             The family will receive friends at Banner Chapel Advent Christian Church from 10:00AM to 10:45AM Thursday prior to the service.
