Evelyn Bryant Ellis

Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Ruth Evelyn Bryant Ellis, age 85, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.  Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks, NC.   Burial will follow in Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Randy Beasley, Rev. Rodney Brittain, and Mr. Rodney Barbour will officiate.

Mrs. Ellis was born in Johnston County, NC on May 18, 1937 to the late Roby and Goldie Stanley Bryant.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of more than fifty years, Wade Ellis, sons, Bennie Ellis and Eddie Ellis, as well as several siblings.  She will be remembered as our “Little Granny”, who would make the best chicken pastry.  She spent many years working at Carolina Packers.  Evelyn loved fishing, playing bingo, and eating Kentucky Fried Chicken.  She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, and was always ready to give them hugs. Evelyn was a member of Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Gail Ellis Austin and husband, Dale, son, Coleman Ellis all of Four Oaks, NC; grandchildren, Lisa Austin Ives and husband, Jeff, Amanda Ellis Rigdon, and husband, John; and Marty Dale Woodall; great-grandchildren, Eli Rigdon, Easton Ives, and Lisa Rigdon; sisters, Mavis Baker and Betty Guin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Monday, November 14, 2022 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Four Oaks, NC, and other times at the home.

The family wishes to thank 3 HC Home Health and Hospice, and Mrs. Linda, for all their loving care during this time.
