Four Oaks, NC: Mrs. Evelyn Hansley Barbour, age 91, of N. Baker Street passed away on January 20, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Barbour’s wishes were not to have a service at this time. The family will receive friends at her home, 302 N. Baker Street on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Mrs. Barbour was born August 8, 1934 in Johnston County to the late Van Henry and Hattie Adams Hansley. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Barbour and brothers, Van Hansley, Bobby Hansley, and Kenneth Hansley.

Mrs. Barbour graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1952 where she was voted, “Most Friendliest”, she was a basketball star, even playing and winning a championship game in Reynolds Coliseum. Mrs. Barbour retired from Four Oaks Bank in 1996. She was a wonderful Mother, but her true joy was being a Grandma and Grandma Choo Choo.

Mrs. Barbour is survived by her son, Randy Barbour and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Brittany Tart and husband, Jay, Jon Barbour and wife, Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Emmie James Tart, Jennings Barbour Tart, Hattie Rae Barbour, and Evie Jon Barbour; brother, Stacy Hansley; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers; memorials may be made to the SECU Hospice House, P. O. Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
