Ercilia Barahona

Ms. Ercilia Barahona age 90, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield, NC. Private Services will be held.

Ms. Barahona was born on August 24, 1935 in Victoria, Honduras, to the late Atanacio Barahona and Maria Castellon. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jorge Menjivar, sons, Oscar Menjivar, and George Menjivar, grandson, Victor Altamirano, and several siblings. Ms. Barahona was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and sewing, however she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Ivan Menjivar and wife, Sharon, Orlando Mendez and Janice Mendez, Alba Altamirano, Marlene Amaya; grandchildren, Evelyn Salzam, Luz Vega, Cristina Altamirano, Nick Amaya, Michael Menjivar, Sheila Jensen, Christopher Mendez; sister, Aniceta Barahona; brother, Ismael Barahona; several nieces and nephews.
