Benson, NC: Mrs. Elgie Evans Lee, age 89, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 10:00AM-10:45AM, Thursday, November 5, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00AM in the Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Four Oaks, NC. Rev. Wesley Cotton will officiate.

Mrs. Lee was born on August 18, 1937 in Nash County, NC to the late Sampson Roosevelt and Lillian Ethel Lee Evans. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James David Lee, and 10 siblings. Mrs. Lee retired from the Jerrell Plant in Smithfield, NC. She loved to cook, sew, and spend time with her family. She attended Holly Grove Advent Christian Church outside Benson, NC, and Erwin Church of God of Prophecy in Erwin, NC.

Survivors include her son, Gene Lee and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Jenny Johnson, and husband, Stanley, and David Lee and wife, Michelle; 7 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandson; sister, Joyce B. Blackmon; several nieces and nephews.
