Coats, NC: Mrs. Dorothy Godwin Loyd, age 85, of Dorothys Lane passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation in Erwin. Funeral Services were held-Thursday, April 23 at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Loyd was born on July 5, 1940 in Harnett County to the late Jesse and Bertie Jackson Godwin. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Merla Wedding and Elizabeth Tart; and brothers, Linwood Godwin and Sherwood Godwin. She was a faithful Christian that loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and a very active member of Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, a church that she loved. She loved to go visiting with people and will be remembered for her gift of sending heartfelt greeting cards to her family and church family for all occasions. She loved her children and grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving include her children, Terri Loyd, Shelia Wages and husband, Travis, and Kenneth Loyd, Jr.; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
