Dorothy "Dot" Honeycutt Denning

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Honeycutt Denning, age, 90, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Johnston Memorial Church, McGee’s Crossroads, NC. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Denning was born September 26, 1930 in Wake County, NC to the late Truby Ray and Repsie Stuart Honeycutt. She was a lifetime member of Johnson Memorial Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, and a charter member of the Lillie Johnson Ladies Auxiliary, which was organized in 1959. Mrs. Denning graduated from Cleveland High School in 1949, and retired from the federal government in March of 2010.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Aaron Glenn Denning, her granddaughter Melissa Leigh Godwin and brothers, Earl Honeycutt and Dan Honeycutt.

Dot is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Debbie Denning and daughter Connie Godwin, granddaughters and their husbands, Lori and Tracy Wood, Kim and Ryan Denning and Wendy Denning; great-granddaughters, Trinity Wood, Hailey, Madyson and Jordyn Denning, and great-grandsons, Kaden Wood and Colton Denning; sisters, JoAnne Collier and Donna Howard, brother, Chester Honeycutt.

Flowers are acceptable, or memorials can be made to Johnson Memorial Church 8280 Hwy 50 N Angier NC 27501.

In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W's: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are required.
