USN SCPO Donald L. “Peep” Edwards, 79, of Willow Spring, NC passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2026. He was born on June 26, 1947 in Faquier County Warrenton, VA to the late Murray Randloph, Sr. and Ruth Woozell Edwards. Celebrations of Life Services will be announced by the family at a later date.

Don proudly served his country for 25 years in the US Navy. From 1966 – 1991, he serviced on the USS Biddle, USS Shenandoah, USNS Mizar, USS Piedmont, and USS Theodore Roosevelt, among many other duty stations. He retired from the USS Theodore Roosevelt as a Senior Chief Petty Officer in 1991, after returning home from Desert Storm.

After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his late wife, Connie, his daughter Molly, and later in life his grandsons, Jakob and Jonah, and most recently the wonderful addition of Lily, Jakob’s significant other, whom Don thought of as a granddaughter. He also had a soft spot for the family’s four mini doxies.

Don is preceded in death by his loving wife Connie, his mother and father, and his oldest brother George Edwards. Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law Molly and Sam Jaber of Willow Spring, NC, grandsons, Jonah Edwards of Willow Spring, NC and Jakob Irby and significant other Lily Abel of Willow Spring, NC, brother Murray R. Edwards, Jr. of Warrenton, VA, several nieces and nephews as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s memory to your local American Legion.
