Delta Jean Lockwood

Delta Jean Lockwood, born on October 17, 1935, in Idaho, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Four Oaks. She was a beloved member of her family and a cherished friend to many. Delta was known for her warm and caring personality, with a particular passion for cooking for her family, bringing warmth to their gatherings and creating lasting memories around the dining table.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, North Carolina. Rev. Luke West will officiate the service, celebrating Delta's life and the indelible impact she left on those who knew her.

Delta's family legacy includes her daughter, Jackie Aumiller, and her husband, Harry. She was a proud grandmother to Frankie Lockwood, Aaron Lockwood, Erin Lockwood, Roxanne Lockwood, Jackie Lockwood, Omni Rodgers, Kyle McLeod, Nicholas Aumiller, Crystal Rodgers, and Jeremy Rodgers. Delta also took immense joy in her twelve great-grandchildren, who adored her.

She is survived by her sister, Sharon Saranpaa, and her beloved fur baby, Lilly, who brought her companionship and comfort throughout her life.

Delta was predeceased by her parents, Louis Covert and Alice Chase Covert, as well as her children, Toby Lockwood, Frank Lockwood, and Luanne Rodgers. Additionally, she is remembered by her brothers, Leo Covert and Louis Covert, who have also passed.
