Declan M. Young passed away following an accident at home on April 15, 2026. Declan was a ninth grade student at Holly Springs High School who loved all things related to NASA, gaming, and military aircraft. Declan had a strong and loving heart, an incredible sense of humor, loved animals of all kinds but particularly cats, he was brilliant and could talk in great depth about a wide variety of subjects. Declan felt things deeply and was empathetic and kind.

Declan was a deeply loved son, brother, nephew, cousin, and grandson. He leaves behind his father, William C. Young, IV, his mother, Anne-Marie McClean, his brother Chris, aunts Sharman, Tara, Margaret, and Janice, uncle Marshall, grandfather, Bill, Young, and cousins, Harris, Bronwen, Quinn, Aengus, Peter, Kate, Helen, Emily, James, Emma and James, Declan was predeceased by his grandmother, Judith Young, grandparents, Robert and Lenora McClean, and uncle, Michael Young,

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Anyone wishing to honor Declan's life can do so with donations to Autism Speaks or the American Civil Liberties Union.
